From the classical architecture of the Bund to the modern architecture of Pudong, Shanghai has interpreted the charm and prosperity of the "Paris of the East" in this way. The most distinctive feature of Shanghai is the Shikumen, which appeared around 1930 and skillfully combines Chinese and Western architecture. The Shikumen records the glorious era of Shanghai at that time and is also the most important memory in the hearts of many Shanghainese. Therefore, I hope to showcase the unique feeling of Shanghai through the Shikumen. Now every piece of land in the center of Shanghai is very precious, and the space in the center is basically determined and cannot be changed on a large scale. So I want to integrate communities and residential buildings and use modern techniques to interpret traditional Shanghai architecture. In order to meet the diverse cultural needs of modern society, various types of spaces converge to create a comprehensive community.
The main purpose of the design is to use modern architectural techniques to interpret Shanghai's old buildings and create a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere. It not only pursues appearance, but also focuses on functional practicality, hoping to provide local residents with a beautiful and functional, vibrant and creative, multi-functional building that meets the needs of rest/exercise/communication/relaxation.
