Early in the 20th century, "Modernization of missionary work. Under the banner of "urbanization and popularization of temple locations," Korean Buddhism became aware of the importance of popularization and active missionary work of Buddhism, and underwent radical urbanization with changes in society. In this process, many temples were built in the city center, including Pogyo Bridge. Most of the buildings are cut off from the surrounding area in a limited land and have not achieved their purpose. The design began with the improvement of these problems and the consideration of the role and attitude of religion in modern society.

The arrangement of traditional temples has several layers, and the process of passing through them strengthens the experience of going to meet the "absolute." Contemporary urban temples are constructed, and these layers are applied to create an entry process that deviates from the urban complexity and reaches spiritual space. It formed a mass collection surrounding the Daegwanjeongteo located in the center of the site, and was designed in the form of a distance from the busyness of the city, although the lower part was opened on the road. I hope it will be a place of rest where everyone can think, away from the busy modern society.
