The Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall, located in Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, opened in 1995 and operates biennial exhibitions every two years. In the past, it formed the axis of Gwangju culture, but now it has lost its identity as it has been reduced to a building unused outside of the exhibition period due to the lack of the Asia Culture Center and exhibition space. It is located between the city and Jungoe Park, which forms an axis of culture, but causes a disconnection due to the set period of use. The role of mediation space was established through space extension, cultural space revitalization, and flow of movement, and it was designed with the goal of creating a cultural community space that is used outside of the two-year event period.
