The Aegwan Theater on the hill of Gyeongdong-gil was a place of daily rest for Incheon people under the 127-year history and a meeting square.
It serves as a cradle for modern Korean film history under the history and cultural value of the first theater and performance hall established by Koreans, and continues its symbolism as the center of cultural facilities in East Incheon with various functions such as movie theaters, lecture halls, and exhibition halls.

However, in the current trend of old single theaters disappearing amid the offensive of multiplex capital, there is a conflict between the opinion that Aegwan Theater should be demolished due to urban redevelopment and that it should be preserved under historical, cultural and social values.

In order to protect the value of the name and space, we would like to reflect on and revitalize the memory and value of the theater by suggesting a spatial solution combined with a new type of facility, Accommodation.
