The importance of transportation infrastructure is growing these days as cross-regional mobility and public transportation support increase. However, most of the transit terminals in Seoul are underdeveloped, and most of them are congested with traffic and difficult to recognize.
In the case of transit terminals, it is an infrastructure with the characteristics of megacity. However, the large scale and noise, as well as the characteristics of an unusual space that nearby residents do not use, can be avoided, and in form, it is made up of high-rise and high density, making it feel like a wall of a city wall. To solve these problems, we want to create an open transit center that can be used by nearby residents. Traffic facilities were induced underground so that passengers could use the ground space fully. The ground space was formed as a cultural and public facility, and the ground floor was emptied into a park-type space, making it a resting place for visitors and allowing nearby residents to use it as a park or cultural facility. Using an organic form rather than a city wall, it could be a huge infrastructure structure but also a symbol of hydration, relieving the burden. Shopping centers and cultural facilities near Suseo Station, which currently lacks infrastructure other than residential and transportation facilities, could create new waves of Suseo, including the rise of the floating population and the development of Suseo.
