급격한 도시화로 인한 과밀화된 도시의 밀도를 수용하기 위해 도시의 건축물들은 고층화, 초고층화가 이루어졌지만 이러한 고층, 초고층 건축물들은 그것을 소유한 자들을 위해서만 존재하는 공간으로서 외부와 격리된 채 특정 기능들의 적층으로만 끝나버렸다. 다시 말해 도시의 고층화가 이루어지는 동안 Private Realm은 수직적으로 확장된데 반해, Public Realm은 여전히 Ground라는 하나의 수평적 구조로서 존재하고 있다. Ground Level에서만 자유롭게 다닐 수 있었던 시민들에게 이제 더 높은 위치에 있는 공간들에 대한 기회를 줄 때이다. 도시의 진정한 수직적인 확장을 위해서는 이러한 평면적인 도시공공공간구조를 수직적으로 확장할 필요가 있다는 것이 해당 프로젝트의 시작점이며, 이를 반영한 초고층 건축물의 새로운 프로토타입을 제시하겠다는 것이 설계의 주제이다.

In order to accommodate the overcrowded urban density caused by rapid urbanization, urban buildings have been made high-rise and super-high-rise, but these high-rise and super-high-rise buildings exist only for those who own them, and are separated from the outside and only stacked with specific functions. In other words, while the city's high-rises are being made, the private realm expands vertically, while the public realm still exists as a horizontal structure called ground. Now is the time to give the citizens who were able to move freely only on the Ground Level opportunities for higher spaces. The starting point of this project is that it is necessary to vertically expand such a flat urban public space structure for a true vertical expansion of the city, and the theme of the design is to present a new prototype of a skyscraper reflecting this.
